A friend of mine moved from Poland to the United Kingdom a few years ago. We"ve been writing emails to each other since that time but we haven"t" met even once. It"s been ten years since he left the country and a lot has changed in Karol"s life. He"s got married and found a new job. He used to be a truck driver when he lived in Poland, but now he"s working as a taxi driver. He"s always enjoyed driving and ha has actually dreamed of becoming a driving instructor. Well, now he says that his dreams might really come true. He"s just been offered some free driving instructor courses. I asked him if that was really free, and he said that he really meant that. He"s won a kind of competition, taken part in a car racing contest or something like that. The free driving instructor courses were offered to the best drivers. To be honest, it made me laugh when I first read his email. I don"t really believe him. Either he"s taking me in or the driving centre that offers this course is trying to deceive him! It just seems too incredible. Nothing is free today. You have to pay in one way or another, and if it"s not obvious how much you are going to pay, you"re probably going to pay a lot. That"s my opinion. Karol hasn"t been writing to me recently, or at least for the last two weeks he hasn"t sent any emails. I"ll call him today and ask how the free driving instructor courses are going on.
